BZ4X is the first pure electric medium-sized SUV based on e-TNGA architecture of GAC Toyota. The CLTC has a range of 615km for the two drive version and 560km and 500km for the four drive version.

Like the TNGA architecture, the e-TNGA architecture also retains the characteristics of low center of gravity and high rigidity. Unlike TNGA, e-TNGA does not need to consider the internal combustion engine system, so the overall vehicle layout can be made more compact.
Low center of gravity can effectively reduce the vehicle’s roll when turning at high speeds, increase the vehicle’s grip, and improve vehicle handling, driving stability, and driving comfort. The highly rigid body ensures the stable posture of the vehicle in motion.
In fact, if compared horizontally, it can be found that the center of gravity of TNGA architecture models is often lower than other models in the same level. The benefits of a low center of gravity are obvious. Driving at high speeds is more stable, with less lateral shaking during turns, resulting in higher handling and more comfortable riding.

As an SUV, the Toyota bZ4X is equipped with the X-MODE four-wheel drive function jointly developed with Subaru, with a minimum turning radius of only 5.7 meters, making it more flexible to handle and giving the Toyota b4ZX certain off-road properties.
The bZ4X can independently control the drive motor in front and back, and is also equipped with the newly developed Grip Control intelligent crawling mode, providing SNOW and DSNOW modes, which can handle from snowy slopes to muddy roads, meeting daily mild off-road needs.

In terms of power, bZ4X has two types of Powertrain: single motor front drive version and dual motor four-wheel drive version. The maximum power of the front wheel drive motor is 150kW, while the maximum power of the front and rear drive motors of the four-wheel drive model is 80kW, with a total output power of 160kW; The peak torque of the front wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions is 266.3N·m and 337N·m, respectively.
Maximum range 615km
The battery pack of bZ4X is a ternary lithium battery provided by CATL, with a total capacity of 50.3kWh and 66.7kWh. Under CLTC conditions, it can provide four endurance versions of 400km, 500km, 560km and 615km.
The 400km range version corresponds to a 50.3kWh battery pack, while the other three range versions correspond to a 66.7kWh battery pack.
Looking at the level of competitors, ID.4X has a range of 555km (83.4kW h). Even the Rear-wheel drive version of Tesla model 3 has a range of only 556km (60kWh).
It is worth mentioning that the bZ4X battery is being developed with a goal of maintaining a battery capacity of 90% after 10 years, aiming to create a long-lasting electric vehicle. Compared to the entire industry, this is the only car company that has made such a commitment, while other car companies generally promise to maintain 80% for 3 years.

The 12.3-inch central control screen is equipped with intelligent voice interaction system, facial recognition function, Toyota Smart Connect, digital keys, and other configurations, allowing users to enjoy efficient and convenient intelligent technology.

The bZ4X also adopts a new air conditioning control unit. You may not know that the power consumption of air conditioning in new energy vehicles has a significant impact on their range.
Taking winter as an example, due to the low temperature in winter, the self heating of the battery will also consume necessary electricity in low-temperature environments. Therefore, without using the air conditioning switch, the range of electric vehicles in winter will be shortened by about 10% -15% compared to summer.
If the heating is turned on, the range can even be reduced by 30%. The bZ4X model is the first Toyota car series to adopt an air conditioning control unit, which reduces air conditioning energy consumption by 30% and indirectly increases range. This is very friendly for consumers in the north.
In terms of seats, the top model also has a driver’s seat memory function, and the Long Range Pro and four-wheel drive versions also support heating of the front and rear seats.
2.Intelligent driving
The bZ4X is equipped with the Toyota “TSS 3.0 Intelligent Safety Assistance Package” for the first time, possessing industry-leading driving assistance capabilities, reliability has been tested for a long time, and supports OTA. The multi scene intelligent parking assistant with memory function can easily handle even open parking spaces and narrow road conditions.
The TSS 3.0 Smart Travel Safety Assistance Package has active safety intelligent driving assistance functions such as Lane departure warning system system (LDA), pre collision safety system (PCS), lane tracking assistance system (LTA), and road sign recognition assistance system (RSA), which can achieve L2 level automatic driving assistance.
During driving, TSS 3.0 Intelligent Travel Safety Assist will provide sound and visual prompts to remind the driver to apply the brakes. The FAW Toyota bZ4X adopts the “Hi Tech and Emotion” design theme, with a brand new design language that is completely different from Toyota’s fuel powered models. The design concept of the front face shape comes from the Hammerhead Shark, paired with a continuous LED light strip, perfectly integrated with the headlights on both sides, creating an unprecedented sense of technology for FAW Toyota.

Compared to the exterior, the interior of the bZ4X is more eye-catching, with the LCD instrument panel located at the top of the center console. For this design, the official claims that it can effectively reduce the movement of the line of sight and make driving more convenient. The center console screen on the right adopts a vertical design, which appears more upright.
